CAUTION! HEADS UP! FR 166 will be completely CLOSED to all motorized AND non-motorized traffic from the intersection of FR 343 (Temperance River Road) east to County Road 2 (Sawbill Trail) starting June 1, 2024 until September 10, 2024, due to extensive logging operations and log trucks on the road. Check with Tofte Ranger District (218-663-8060) or visit the Superior National Forest Webpage (https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/superior/notices/?cid=FSEPRD1175852) for more information.

The Six Hundred Road is great! I rode my mountain bike from Tofte up the Sawbill Trail, along the Six Hundred Road and then back down to Schroeder. This road is hilly and well maintained. I like it alot.

Reasonable maintained gravel road. Narrow at spots. Hilly.
